Automatic electric windows, electric mirrors, electric windows, dual climate zones, cruise control, air conditioning, CD player, steering wheel audio controls, multi-function steering wheel and an alarm – all these in the new BMW for sale UK!
The BMW for sale UK redesigned coupe joins the 3-Series sedan and station wagon, which were redesigned for 2006 and thus little changed for 2007. However, the 335i sedan gets the same twin-turbocharged 300-horsepower inline 6-cylinder with a direct fuel injection system offered in the new coupe. The new turbo sedan replaces the 2006 330i sedan, which had 255 horsepower. This BMW for sale UK coupe usually follows the sedan by about a year, and the new BMW 3-Series convertible likely has arrived for the 2008 model year. The BMW for sale UK high-performance M3 version of the coupe has been dropped for 2007, but returns in a year, likely with a V8 producing about 400 horsepower.
BMW redesigned its best-selling line, the near-luxury 3-Series, for 1999. In addition to gaining a new profile and plenty of new features, BMW for sale UK 3-Series got roomier back seats. Weights and exterior dimensions went up only marginally. Four-door sedans debuted in fall 1998, in new 323i and 328i form, with two different six-cylinder engine sizes. The 323i used a 2.5-liter engine, replacing the four-cylinder 318i as BMW’s entry-level sedan. The 328i retained its 2.8-liter engine. Manual shift was standard, with a five-speed automatic transmission optional. Traction control was standard, along with Cornering Brake Control, designed to stabilize the car under hard braking in turns. Front passengers got six airbags to cushion front and side impacts. Rear side-impact airbags were newly optional. So was Park Distance Control, which beeped to signal the presence of objects to the rear when backing up.
Inside, the BMW for sale UK 2010 3-Series is an uber-traditional BMW: purposeful, elegant, and luxurious but restrained. For the 2010 3-Series, Automobile Magazine raves that the “ergonomics are great,” while Motor Trend notes the availability of “new colors and materials” for the interior. The only complaints come from Consumer’s Guide, which gripes that the “audio and climate controls are compromised by their low mounting position and some cryptic markings.”
All BMW 3-Series gasoline engines team with a 6-speed manual transmission. Optional on the 328i and 335i and standard on the 335d is a 6-speed automatic. BMW for sale UK M3 is available with a 7-speed dual-clutch automated manual that behaves much like an automatic. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, and front-side airbags. Head-protecting tubular side airbags are standard on all but convertibles. Convertibles have rollover bars designed to deploy from the rear headrests if sensors detect an impending tip.
Cars with the optional navigation system get BMW’s iDrive that uses a console knob to control entertainment, navigation, communication, and other functions. Available features include steering-linked xenon headlights, BMW’s Active Steering that quickens steering response at low speeds, rear-obstacle detection, adaptive cruise control, and BMW Assist service with a wireless cell-phone link.
Now in its sixth year since the last full redesign, BMW for sale UK 3 Series soldiers on with key changes for 2011. The coupe and convertible get a mild styling refresh that only the keen eyes of Bimmerphiles will notice. More important, though, is an all-new engine for the 335i models. Its output remains the same, but the switch to a single twin-scroll turbocharger in place of the old engine’s dual single-scroll turbochargers combines with direct injection to improve fuel economy. Not only is the new 335i thriftier than the old one, it sips slightly less fuel than the 328i.
